Pengzhen is a traditional street famous for the Guanyin Pagoda (Guan Yin Ge) Tea House that is over 100 years old. Pengzhen itself is an old street of houses from the 1970s. It is located 15km south of the city of Chengdu in Shuangliu and is famouse for the old tea houses and a good place to see real local Chengdu (old) people. 

Pengzhen was first built in Ming Dynasty and was one of the main trading towns south of Chengdu and was the home of a then famous literate&poet Peng Duan Shu, hence the name of town Peng Zhen (town of Peng Family). Pengzhen has several old constructions including the tea houses, clan houses although some has been re-built.

 
Pengzhen is located 15km southwest of Chengdu and with a drive of 30 minutes can get to. Some stylish shops and tea houses have been opened in this area too. Some old part will be demolished for re-building into more modern streets.
