Detailed Itinerary:

​

First you will start from your hotel in the morning by 7:30 and drive to the panda base in the northern suburb of Chengdu for about 30 minutes. It is better to be at the panda base earlier than later as this panda base is usually crowded with visitors after 9 o’clock especially on weekends.

​

You will start by the enclosures with adult pandas kept in separated places. Each enclosure you will have enough time to take photos and look at the pandas.

You will be on foot while visiting the panda base in Chengdu. However there is also golf car inside the base you can take. The walking is between each enclosure is about 2-5 minutes with steps but also accesses for wheel chairs too.

After visit at Sunshine Delivery House you will go to the Moonlight Delivery House where you will see the panda toddlers with age of about 1 year old, the most active and playful age of pandas. These toddlers are kept together that you will often see them climbing trees, playing. This is the highlight of the panda base in Chengdu.

​

After worth you will go to see the red pandas. Some of the red pandas are not kept in enclosures but rather free to walk on the visitors boardwalk.

The visiting time is about 2-3 hours in total at Chengdu Panda Base.

After the visit, say goodbye to the pandas and drive back to your hotel. You will be dropped off to your hotel or anywhere in the city that you prefer.

Travel Tips:

 

1.You are recommended to start early in the morning to avoid the crowd at the panda base especially in the summer time for another reason is the pandas don’t like hot weather. Morning is their active time when you can see them eating and playing outside of their house.

​

2.You can get probably the closest 2-3 meters away from pandas. Chengdu Panda Base serves as a research and breeding center of pandas. It is a very nice room and enclosures for pandas.

​

3.The pandas have babies from July to October each year. By this time of traveling you will often see some fresh born babies. Although the older toddlers are there throughout the year at Moonlight Delivery House.

​

4.Chengdu Panda Base is a very well facilitated park that can be accessed by anyone including the elders, children and the physically-challenged.
