Detailed Itinerary:

​

Start in the morning by 8am and after 2 hours drive we will arrive the base of Ganhaizi by Wolong Village where we will switch to a local car and drive up the mountain to the hiking start by around 2300m. From there we will start to hike on paved stairs in forest. We will have chance to see different birds. (This part of Sichuan is one of the best places to see birds in China including Golden Pheasant and other smaller birds). After 3km of walk we will arrive at 2700m by the small pond (called Ganhaizi by local people, meaning Drying Lake) and then we may continue to walk up the ridge for another 1-2km to gain more views of the mountains around. Note by now you are in the middle of the Wolong Panda Reserve where all the places you see now are the actual home of pandas: somewhere in the forest the pandas living there eating bamboos! 

After wondering around by the top we will then go back the same way and be picked up and go back to the base and drive back to Chengdu. We should arrive back to Chengdu by around 5-6pm.
