Detailed Itinerary:

​

We will start in the morning by 8am and drive for 1 hour 15 minutes and arrive by the base and start to walk. There is no place for lunch so we should have lunch prepared and packed with us be it either simple but energy snacks or anything can last for half day's time. We will first walk from the village below and then on steep stairs all the wall until our first stop by Zhangren Temple where we will have s short break  and then detour up to see the tea plantation nurtured in this Taoist Shrine. We will then continue walking on relatively gradual trail to Yuqing Palace, another Taoist temple that is bigger. We will pay a visit to this temple if it is open before continue on to Yuanming Palace, another Taoist temple where taoists here living a secluded life. 

After visit Yuanming Palace we will start to walk down following the dirt road along a stream and then arrive the base and drive back to Chengdu. We should finish hiking within 3-4 hours time and arrive back to Chengdu by around 3pm. Optionally you may add on a visit to the less-touristy panda base of Dujiangyan before the hiking if panda visit is part of your travel plan. 

 

Travel Tips:

 

1, Tour pace is medium to Strenuous;
2, Total walking 8km from the elevation of 700m to 1000m and back to 700m. All the way on mountain trails or paved stairs some sections steep. 
3, This hiking is not in any tourist park, it's normally a quiet hiking where you don't have to fight space against others.
