Detailed Itinerary:

We will start in the morning by 8am from the city of Chengdu and drive for around 1h 15 minutes and arrive the base of Qingcheng. We will first use the tourist golf car provided by the park to get to the base of the mountain and from there we will check in to the park and start to walk.
In the morning the mountain is usually quiet after the first bit where most visitors will be using cable cars to the summit. We will walk on stairs all the way. The trails are all shedded by the green-color trees all year round. Our first temple is Tianshi Cave Temple after around 1 hour's walk. We will have a visit of this temple and start to learn the spirit and stories of Taoism. We will then continue the hiking up and then we have an optional detour to Zushi Temple. After another 40 minutes hike we will arrive Shangqing Palace, the biggest Taoist Temple in Qingcheng Mountain. We will walk through the temple while visiting and continue up to the summit by Laojun Pavilion where we will have more open views from the top.
After a short stay by the top, we will then walk down the mountain via another route via Shangqing Palace to Yuecheng Lake and then walk down to the base of the mountain before using the golf car to drive out. Then we will drive back to Chengdu. We should arrive back to Chengdu by around 4-5pm. Optionally, you may add on a visit to the less-touristy panda base of Dujiangyan before the hiking if visiting panda is part of your travel plan.
